Exodus 9:12 (NKJV)
12  But the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh; and he did not heed them, just as the LORD had spoken to Moses.

It seems strange that the same God that lovingly, mercifully, patiently , softened my heart, also hardened Pharaoh’s.

But if you read the entire story in the book of Exodus, you will discover that Pharaoh caused his own heart to grow hard and harder, first.

Every time Pharaoh stubbornly refused to listen to, or obey God’s word, he caused his heart to grow harder. And in that, there is a lesson for us, the more we stubbornly refuse to listen to, or obey God’s word, the more we run the risk of hardening our own heart. And hardening it to the point to where God may say, “If you want a hard heart, I’ll give you one!”

May God give you the grace today, to no longer stubbornly rebel against him, but to listen to what he says, and do it.
